Day 13 - A Ferry Ride to some of the Islands

So for the holiday weekend we traveled north past Seattle to a campground near Monroe.

Our first adventure - explore the islands - by car and ferry

BTW - don't be in a hurry is you're taking a ferry - long waits!

Another ferry going the other way

The scenery on the island - we landed at Kingston heading for Port Gamble.
Another hour wait to cross a draw bridge.
And then on to Port Ludlow for lunch.

After lunch - we headed for Sequim.
A much different climate than the rest of the Seattle area - much dryer.
And very famous for growing lavender.

We missed the growing season - they harvested several weeks ago.

A whole day of sightseeing and now headed to Port Townsend to catch the ferry back.
Harbors and water everywhere!

Port Wilson Lighthouse
No shortage of lighthouses

Waiting for the next ferry - another two hours

Ferry crossing at night.
A very long day but fun!
